If it cannot be blown clean, take two pieces of lens paper and wrap them on a cotton swab or fold the lens paper to make it slightly larger than the area to be cleaned. When wiping the surface of optical components, petroleum ether should be used to clean the rough sand surface and frame.

2、 When wiping circular parts, the cotton ball should move in a spiral line from the center to the edge. At the same time, the cotton ball itself should also rotate and move out of the surface of the lens accordingly, without staying at the edge of the lens to avoid leaving marks. If using a rotator to wipe, the cotton ball should move in a straight line from the center to the edge, and the cotton ball itself should rotate at the same time (the rotation of the cotton ball should be slightly less than one circle).

3、 When wiping the prism, the cotton ball can be placed horizontally on the surface to be wiped and wiped in a straight line. It should be wiped in a relatively clean room and wiped with degreased long staple cotton. The cleaning solution on the cotton ball should not be too much. When wiping, it should be moved and wiped in the cross direction of the marking board to avoid wiping off the filling layer inside the marking.

4、 When wiping glued optical parts, the cotton ball should not be dipped in too much mixed liquid to prevent solvent from entering the adhesive layer and causing delamination. Reflective parts coated with aluminum and protective film, if the protective film is relatively firm, can be wiped with a cotton ball dipped in a small mixture or a carefully degreased sandcloth.

5、 The cotton ball should be rolled well, and the head of the bamboo stick used to roll the cotton ball should not be exposed to avoid scratching the parts. The size and shape of cotton balls should vary with the size and type of parts. Generally, cylindrical cotton balls are used for circular parts, and flat cotton balls are used for flat parts. Except for soft cotton balls used for coating surfaces (especially reflective magnesium), the cotton balls should be tightly rolled in all other cases. When the cotton ball dipped in the mixed agent enters the solvent, please do not exceed one-third of the length of the cotton ball.
