Antibacterial transparent dressings are breathable.
The antibacterial transparent dressing comprises a transparent adhesive dressing and a gel pad. The gel pad contains 2% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG, an antibacterial agent with broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal activities) by weight. The gel pad can absorb liquid. This transparent film provides an effective barrier to prevent external infections, including liquids (waterproof), bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and protects the puncture site.
Test characteristics
In vitro testing (sterilization curve and inhibition zone) confirms: Tegaderm ™ CHG gel pad has an anti microbial effect and is resistant to various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi, including microorganisms usually associated with catheter-related bloodstream infection (CRBSI).
Tegaderm ™ CHG antibacterial transparent dressing is transparent, facilitating continuous observation of the puncture site, and also has breathability, allowing moisture to be fully dissipated.
* In vitro testing shows that, when the dressing is fully sealed and leak free, this transparent dressing film provides a virus barrier to resist viruses with a diameter of 27nm or larger. The viral barrier is due to the characteristics of dressings, rather than the auxiliary properties of CHG.
